What is The Rainbow Reader by Salem West
I’m an avid, aggressive reader, and like to think of myself as a connoisseur of fine lesbian literature.
So, whether you've been reading and/or writing lesbian literature for years, or you're just discovering this wonderful new world . . . step in, strap on, and go for a ride on The Rainbow Reader.
And, as always, thanks for stopping by . . .
My goal with The Rainbow Reader blog is to provide fair, unbiased reviews of old and new books that are written for, by or about lesbians.
In it, I discuss writing styles and approaches of various authors, talk about publishing companies versus indie writers, and focus on various issues, trials, and triumphs facing those brave souls with the guts, grit, and stamina to take on this niche market.
Along the way, you're likely to pick up bits and pieces of my life, be subjected to my quirky sense of humor, and learn more than you ever wanted to know about topics ranging from adiabatic quantum computation and failed Utopian experiments in the new world to Nietzsche's Ubermensch from The Gay Science, and Zarathustra's retreat from the mountain to mankind.
I invite and encourage readers, authors, and publishers to comment freely, make suggestions about recent and upcoming releases, and spotlight emerging authors. If you aren't comfortable leaving your name with your comment, that's fine with me. I've made sure you have the option of commenting anonymously - the most important thing is that anyone with a voice be heard.
I have a lot of reasons for doing this blog, but my personal and selfish goal is to make sure the best writers and the best books get into the hands of as many readers as possible.
